WHERE I STAND

TOURISM & ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT - There's no question we need more jobs in Kamloops. Historically, our city was built upon resource-based industries. That will always be a part of our city, and I honour that, even as I seek to diversify our local economy by encouraging the high-tech, tourism, festival, food and wine, education, film and renewable energy industries. We can create the kind of city we want to live in.

SMALL BUSINESS - Small business is the backbone of the Kamloops economy. When we support local businesses, we help create jobs and help business owners thrive -- which not only creates a strong economy, but fosters a community that gives back. As a former freelancer, I understand the challenges independent businesses face and wish to improve conditions for owners. That will keep companies here and attract more to the city.

SUSTAINABILITY - We generally think of "saving the planet" and environmental concerns when we hear the word "sustainability." That's important, and I encourage you to join me in reducing, reusing and recycling whenever possible. Social sustainability and economic sustainability are equally vital. Only when we create a city that can take care of the most vulnerable among us and reach economic sustainability will we have achieved true success. We have work to do!

DIVERSITY & EQUITY - What makes us different makes us stronger. I believe in a community that respects people of all ethnicities, religions, genders, abilities, orientations and financial situations. Everyone has a right to feel safe. Human rights means ensuring everyone has the ability to be an active and valued participant in our society.
